Vanessa Jones - Director

When Vanessa was a kid she would walk with her head down, gazing at the ground to avoid stepping on any ants in her path. This love of all living beings (ok, ok ... maybe not cockroaches and mosquitoes) has stayed with her throughout her life.

While she went on to become a successful journalist and editor, it was never where her true passion lay, and when she was finally old enough to have her own dog as an adult she realised that was where her heart lay. Owning big breed rottweilers meant she soon realised the importance of quality training and she set about learning all she could to achieve the best possible results so her dogs could lead the fullest lives possible. When her first rottweiler became very sick with an autoimmune condition, it took her on to a journey of discovery and she learnt all she could about diet and canine health, eventually becoming a leading Canine Myofunctional Therapist (dog masseur), Small Animal Nutritionist and Small Animal Naturopath (Dip.NatSA). She believes wholeheartedly in providing a raw food diet to dogs and cats.

Her journey with her own dogs made her realise how much she could help others, understanding that there are so many owners out there who need help with their dogs. And this became a passion as she loves seeing the results she gets when what was once an unruly dog starts to listen to its owner and begin to behave. So she went on to become a Canine Behaviour Practitioner and has a Diploma in Canine Behaviour from the renowned International School for Canine Psychology & Behaviour (ISCP.Dip.Canine.Prac). She has since backed those qualifications up with a certificate as a SA (Separation Anxiety) Pro Trainer. She is also Certified in Applied Canine Ethology (CACE) from the Ethology Institute and a
CPDT (Certified Professional Dog Trainer).

She is the co-host of podcast Tails From The Dog House: Separation Anxiety Explained (available on all good listening apps)

In her spare time she is actively involved in dog sport with her two Belgian Malionis. While she would love to say her interests include sky diving, water skiing and tightrope walking, the truth is her whole world revolves around dogs whether it is training her own or helping others achieve the well-mannered dogs they dream of.

She also dabbles in photography and enjoys taking candid photos of her four-footed clients.

And yes .... she still dodges those ants on the footpath!

Testimonial - Kelly & Charli
There were a few cars and even dogs barking and she only glanced a couple of times then straight back to me. It was great. And so happy there was NO PULLING on the lead! Nothing at all not when we left, not when we were walking/training and then home.  I cant believe it.

Testimonial - Kristy & Huxley
Huxley was amazing this afternoon, really exciting progress already! He walked with me for about 100m in a very quiet park without pulling at all and was in a great left position most of the time. We also ran through his trick dog routine for when he's able to compete in his first novice event and he did it perfectly in the park and kept focus on me the whole time (we just did this for fun at the end so was very surprised when he nailed it!). He is far less distracted by people walking past already too which is great.
